When it comes to skin care, a lot of the battle is finding those products that are really right for you and your specific skin care issues. For me, I have issues with combination skin that is very prone to clogged pores and blemishes, but I also have to take care to protect my natural moisture barrier so I need to use gentle products. Complicated, right? Either way, I'm always looking to improve on the routine and find a way to maintain healthy, balanced skin. A gentle, non-drying, soap-free foam wash that effectively cleansing the skin of excess oil without compromising the skin barrier or resulting in over compensation of sebum production.
For me, this product is definitely the one that really sticks out for me. I've struggled so much with cleansers that were designed for oily or blemish prone skin, because they've always been too harsh and really messed with the moisture balance of my skin. I use this after using a cleansing oil or balm to remove my makeup, which I feel is the way to get my skin the absolute cleanest using this product. I love the way my skin feels after using this foam wash, because it really does feel like it is completely clean but there isn't any leftover tightness or discomfort on my face like most foam cleansers that I've used in the past. I've found that this has done a really good job of keeping my skin clean, soft and balanced.
Cetaphil® DERMACONTROL Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30
A non-greasy, lightweight facial moisturizer for daily use in the skincare routine with the added benefits of broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
One thing that I really like about this moisturizer in the inclusion of an SPF. Admittedly, I most often forget to add SPF into my skincare routine and I have a distinct feeling that skipping it for so long is something I'm going to regret. It's really convenient when it's combined with your daytime moisturizer so that it's one step... and one that you're far less likely to skip. I did like this moisturizer and I found that it did exactly what it said it was going to do. It kept my skin really balanced and matte throughout the day, which is generally a hard thing to do with a product that does contain SPF in my experience. The only problem that I had with it is that it doesn't quite absorb into the skin as quickly as I, the lazy woman who only gives herself the bare minimum of time to get ready in the morning, would have liked. Still, it's a really good product that really gets the job done.
Overall, I think this is a really great pair of products for every day skin care needs, particularly when it comes to a streamlined morning skincare routine. Obviously these are aimed at oily, combination or blemish-prone skin, but I haven't had any problems related to this being drying on my skin - which is impressive since I do tend to get fairly dry patches on my skin. I like that it keeps my skin balanced, fresh, and is aimed at keeping my skin clean and blemish free.
